Carolina Beach Town Council reviews summer successes
CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WWAY)– The Carolina Beach Town Council met to review this summer’s successes and plan for the future.
They discussed a $4 million conservation grant from 2022 for Freeman Park but decided to seek additional input from boaters and environmentalists before allowing more vehicles into the park.
The council also reviewed the performance of the town’s parking contractor, Pivot Parking.
They talked about improvements made over the past year and explored future options.
Mayor Lynn Barbee highlighted the positive impact of new signage implemented during the off-season.
“We made a concerted effort around signage this year. There was a lot of confusion last year, leading to numerous complaints. With the new signage package, the number of complaints has decreased and things seem much clearer.”
Barbee also mentioned that the town is considering transitioning to mobile parking payments, as physical parking meters often suffer from salt air corrosion.
