ALE busts hundreds during Azalea Festival

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Alcohol Law Enforcement arrested or cited 261 people during the Azalea Festival over the weekend.

Agents filed a total of 308 charges. That included 107 charges of underage possession of alcohol, 15 charges of using a fake ID and 15 charges of possession of marijuana.

ALE turned over five DWI cases to the Highway Patrol.

Also, two businesses were cited for alcohol incidents involving minors.
