Police: Man snatches $345 in cookie money from Girl Scouts
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) – Police say someone stole $345 from Girl Scouts selling cookies in front of a Charleston pet store.
Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis said in a news release the scouts turned their backs from their table as they changed shifts around 3 p.m. Sunday and a man ran up and grabbed a container with the money inside.
Francis sent out an image Monday on Twitter of a person of interest who matched the description of the man the scouts said took their money.
The girls were selling cookies at a Petco west of downtown Charleston.
