Arrests made following shots fired call in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  Multiple people were arrested after Wilmington Police responded to a shots fired call.

According to Wilmington PD, officers were patrolling the Market North Apartments area around 1am Monday when they heard gunfire. A Shot Spotter notification came in shortly after that.

Officers observed a vehicle leaving the 200 block of Darlington Avenue they believed was involved in the shooting and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The people in the vehicle took off on foot, but were later caught.

One of the three captured is a 16-year-old juvenile, who is charged with Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling, Resist, Delay and Obstruct, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by Minor.

The second person arrested is 22-year-old Amari Tkai Montgomery. Montgomery is charged with Failure to Yield for Blue Light and Siren, and Window Tint Violation.

The third person charged, 18-year-old Zayvion Malik Cuttino, is charged with Possession of a Schedule II and Schedule VI Controlled Substances and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
