Crowds spend hours waiting for Wells Fargo Championship shuttle
WILLMINGTON, NC — Weather delayed shuttles to the Wells Fargo Championship Friday morning.
Originally set to depart Downtown Wilmington at 6:00 a.m., buses didn’t start loading until nearly 9:00 a.m..
One volunteer, George Rosica, arrived at 6:30 a.m. only to realize it had been delayed.
“Well, sat in the car for a while. Then we saw there was a one hour delay. Then we saw there was a two hour delay and walked up here from the parking garage. Then we found out there was a three hour delay. So, we’ve just been hanging out here and chit-chatting,” he said.
Even though the crowds had to wait, most people seemed to be in good spirits and ready to watch some golf.
