"Montani Semper Liberi!" Ashley Sturm hails from the Mountain State, West Virginia. In 2013, she graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in broadcast journalism and minors in political science and history. That summer she returned to her hometown of Parkersburg, WV, and joined the WTAP news team. During her three-year tenure, she worked as a producer and reporter before taking over the anchor desk at 6 & 11 p.m. In June 2016, Ashley packed her bags and set her alarm clock, making her WWAY debut as an anchor on Good Morning Carolina. Ashley is a political junkie and history buff. In her free time she loves watching documentaries. She also enjoys musicals and reading. She’s excited to explore Wilmington with her rescue dog Parker.
