Mom of 4 sets hamburger eating world record in Raleigh

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — The Hwy 55 World Hamburger Eating Competition is over and the winner is a 100 pound mother of four.

Organizers of the event say Molly Schuyler set a world record Saturday, May 20th, in Raleigh, NC in the Hwy 55 World Hamburger Eating Competition.  She downed 7 stacked Hwy 55 burgers, a side of fries and a 20 oz. drink in one minute, 37 seconds.  That is 5.7 pounds of food/drink in just over a minute and a half!

Her previous world record was 1:53.

Schuyler walked away with a full belly and $2500 in cash.  She told organizers that she flew from Los Angeles to Charlotte.  Jumped in a rental car and  drove to Raleigh where she spent the night in her rental car, nicknamed “The Toyota Corolla Inn”.
