Fifth annual Femme in STEM event
FORT FISHER, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher hosted its fifth annual Femme in STEM event.
Attendees explored thirty-two diverse exhibits scattered throughout its spaces.
Each corner offered something new to discover, from ancient fossils to the anatomy of marine life.
Femme in STEM not only showcases these incredible displays but also celebrates the contributions of women who have profoundly impacted science.
Gail Lemiec, the Unique Experiences Coordinator for the North Carolina Aquarium, expressed her hopes for the event’s influence on younger generations:
“Here at the aquarium, we are all about saving species, and we cannot do that alone. We need the help of future generations and a diversity of minds working on solutions to these challenges. We aim to inspire them to explore STEM fields or at least open their minds to that possibility.”
