Mount Misery overpass open in Leland

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A new overpass opened on Saturday, which should make the drive easier for people who live on Mount Misery Road in Leland.

Senior assistant resident engineer, Alex Stewart, says the overpass is part of the I-140 project.

Before the overpass opened, drivers would get held up at railroad tracks when a train was coming through.

The overpass will alleviate the traffic that would backup on the road.

Stewart says all traffic will now be directed to the overpass.
