Police: School custodian among two arrested on crack charges
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Leland Police say a school custodian was one of two people they arrested yesterday on crack charges.
Police say they arrested Francine Stukes, 53, and Everett Jackson, 60. They are charged with multiple counts of sale of crack cocaine, conspiracy to sell crack cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for the sale of crack cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for the sale of crack cocaine.

Police say they arrested Stukes around 6:45 p.m. in the area of Village and Old Fayetteville Road. They say she lists she is a custodian at Murray Middle School in New Hanover County. She was booked in jail under $50,000 secured bond, but is not currently listed on the Brunswick County Jail’s website.
Officers arrested Jackson later in the evening on Townsend Lane. Jackson’s bond is set at $100,000 secured. He was still in custody as of 10:15 a.m.
A New Hanover County Schools spokeswoman says Stukes was hired August 8, 2006. She is suspended without pay pending the outcome of an investigation by Human Resources.
