Wesley Memorial’s pumpkin patch: A fall tradition

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s time to pick out the perfect pumpkin, and Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church has just the patch for you!

Located on College Road, the church transforms its courtyard into a pumpkin patch each fall, this year being the 35th.

All pumpkins are sold through Pumpkins USA, which helps fundraise for local churches. This means that a portion of the proceeds goes back into ministries.

No two pumpkins are alike, which is why pricing varies based on the one you choose to take home.

Pastor Becca Detterman shared her hopes for the patch: “That’s the goal is to not have any left. We are getting three trucks this year, and so we will be open every day until Halloween. If we do have any left after that, it’ll be a pay what you want or what you can. But yeah, we will be out here every day.”

For a special experience, you can plan a story time and scavenger hunt in the pumpkin patch by appointment.
