Local dentistry collects Halloween candy for a good cause

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY)– If you have lots of Halloween candy or you’re trying to avoid cavities, a local dentist is collecting candy for a good cause.

Monday kicked off Coastal Pediatric Dentistry’s Halloween candy buyback program. For every pound of candy children and their families donate they’ll be given a dollar. Children under the age of 18 who donate will also be entered into a raffle to win a Nintendo Switch.

The dentistry partnered with Soldier’s Angels’ “Treats for Troops” program to donate all of the collected candy to the troops.

Madi Williams, the marketing coordinator for the dentistry says donating the candy is the least they can do.

“I mean they do so much for this country. They’re constantly protecting us and protecting the country that we’re in. So, the least that we can do is give back to them. Something as simple as donating candy can really make a big impact and just show that we care and support them,” Williams said.

Williams adds to avoid the “sugar rush” in your household you can donate candy through this Friday at:

Coastal Pediatric Dentistry – 3067 Southport Supply Road, Bolivia, NC

Coastal Cosmetic Family Dentistry – 3701 Southport Supply Road, Bolivia, NC

Coastal Cosmetic Family Dentistry – 8212 E Oak Island Dr., Oak Island, NC

Williams adds they are also running new patient specials including $99 kids’ new patient special, $500 off Sure Smiles, $500 off Healthy Start System, and $100 off Habit Corrector.
