Leland man facing firearm charges following investigation

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man is in custody in New Hanover County on gun charges following a shooting.
According to Wilmington Police Department, November 3rd, officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert found an occupied vehicle had been struck by gunfire near South 5th and Greenfield Street.
Police claim that Christopher Flood, 24, had forced an Uber driver to drive him around the city at gunpoint and allegedly shot at a vehicle.
Flood is charged with Second Degree Kidnapping, two counts of Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Vehicle, Discharge Firearm from Within an Enclosure, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Arrested Flood on Monday and took him to the New Hanover County Detention Center where he is being held under a $2,000,000 secured bond.
