Novant Health completes its 60,000-square-foot medical office building

NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY)–Novant Health has completed a 60,000-square-foot medical office building, located near the future — Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center.
Novant Health says the new Scotts Hill Medical Plaza will save residents travel time for outpatient care, and cancer treatment. The medical plaza’s outpatient services include primary care, heart and vascular, urology, neurology, and more. It will open to patients next Wednesday.
Scotts Hill Medical Center will be a 250,000-square-foot community hospital with a surgical focus. Construction on that facility is slated to wrap in 2026. Laurie Whalin is the president of the future Scotts Hill Medical Center. She says this expansion is a great addition due to other facilities reaching capacity.

“So you know we’re building right behind us– which will open mid-26. We also have additional space on this campus, right next to the medical office building and in the back. That is additional spacing for additional medical office buildings for when we need that space as well. So, we’re already planning for expansion,” says Laurie Whalin.
