Wilmington man uses pressure washing equipment to extinguish car fire

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington business owner jumped into action this morning after a series of crashes on Rogersville Road. The incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. and quickly turned chaotic.

Jonathan Neman, who owns Absolute Detail Pressure Washing, was awakened by a loud crash outside his home. Curious about the commotion, Neman drove down Rogersville Road to investigate.

What he discovered: a vehicle had collided with another car, continued driving, and then crashed into a parked vehicle. The impact left two cars stacked on top of one another, one of which was beginning to smoke.

Realizing he had the right tools to help, Neman jumped into action. “I hauled over to the other side of the street, pulled out not one, but two hoses because if you’ve got two, why not use both?” he said. “I started dousing out the flames because at that time, they were probably 10 to 15 feet tall. This is not good; these cars are about to go down.”

Wilmington fire crews then took over the scene.

Neman also said that the driver responsible for the crashes was taken into custody and we are waiting for Wilmington Police to confirm.
