Man arrested after incident at gas station in Whiteville
WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A mans was taken into custody after a bizarre incident at a gas station in Whiteville.
Whiteville police say around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, a man allegedly sped into a number of cars at the Murphy USA gas station on Columbus Corners Drive.
The man allegedly tore up a gas pump and ran out of his vehicle into the store, barricading himself inside with employees.
When police arrived, the man came out with a knife, but was taken into custody without incident.
The man has been taken to a hospital for evaluation.
It is possible charges will be filed, but specifics will not be known for a few days.
