Unwelcome guest! BCSO captures alligator in garage
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A resident on North Hampton Drive in Southport had an unwelcome guest this morning!
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office captured a small alligator that they say was clearly lost when he showed up in the resident’s garage.
With some assistance from BCSO Animal Protective Services and BCSO deputies, the gator was safely delivered back to his home in the marsh.
“I would just like to send my sincere thanks to the two sheriff deputies and the animal control officer who came to my home this morning to wrangle the gator out of my garage and back into the marsh across the street,” said the resident. “Honestly, I didn’t know who to call, and I am thankful for 911 and the response of the officers and animal control officer. Being an animal lover, I also appreciate that the gator was just removed, and not destroyed. My thanks to all of them for an exciting yet scary time! And for being so professional and courteous.”
