SUPPLY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation (BEMC) announces a expansion of its scholarship program for local students in Brunswick and Columbus counties. This year, the organization will award a $2,000 scholarship to seven public high schools in its service territory, totaling $14,000 in educational support.

“We believe that investing in education is one of the most powerful ways we can give back to our community,” said Josh Winslow, CEO of BEMC. “By increasing the number of scholarships and making them available to schools in our service area, we hope to provide more students with the support they need to achieve their academic and career goals.”

“We are thrilled to see this expanded commitment to supporting local students,” said Eddie Beck, superintendent of Columbus County Schools, “This generous scholarship opportunity will open doors for many students who are determined to continue their education and pursue their dreams.”

The application process for the scholarships will be available on bemc.org beginning December 15. Students will need to submit their completed application forms and supporting materials by March 15 to their guidance counselor.
