Police: Man taken into custody after being found concealing multiple weapons

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Polic say they arrested a man after reportedly finding him with several weapons.

Police officers responded to 15 Castle Street, Soloman Towers, this morning for a report of a man with a gun. The caller said a white male was sitting on the front lawn playing with a shotgun.

The male was identified as Bryan David Todd. Police say he was also sitting with nun-chucks around his neck, a shotgun on his lap and multiple knives on him.

When officers arrived they challenged Todd to drop the weapon.

Todd was taken into custody without incident and transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

Warrants were obtained for Going Armed to the Terror of the Public and multiple CCW charges.

Police say Todd was concealing multiple knives and two handguns on him and also had a ballistic helmet.

A joint investigation with ATF, FBI and the Wilmington Police Department is ongoing to determine if other charges are warranted.

WPD will release more information as the investigation unfolds.
