Shots fired into Tabor City home leaves woman injured

TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) — Columbus County deputies responded to a shooting Saturday that left a woman injured.

According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, someone shot into a house on Peacock Road, resulting in an 18-year-old woman being hit by a projectile while in her bedroom. A car on the property was also hit.

Deputies say they collected 16 items of evidence, including shell casings and unspent ammo from the incident. The investigation has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.

The woman was taken to Columbus Regional. No word on her condition.
