Stephanie Key, The director of the annual ghost walk of Pender’s past, died
She died this past Friday. Key was an assistant with the Pender County Tourism Department.
PENDER COUNTY (WWAY)–During Pender County’s State-of-the-County Address, a moment of silence was held for the late Stephanie Key.
She died this past Friday. Key was an assistant with the Pender County Tourism Department. In July of last year, she was honored as one of the 2024 Wilmington Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 awardees.
Burgaw Mayor Olivia Dawson says she is saddened by the loss of her friend, coworker, and team member.
“Spending what? 40 hours a week at least in an office, we developed a friendship, and of course, after years, they’re work family. You build a close relationship,” Dawson shared.
Stephanie Key is also credited as the Director of the annual Ghost Walk of Pender’s Past, which has been held in Burgaw during the Halloween season for the last few years.
