Pender County held its State of County; sharing updates with what’s happening in the county
"I was happy to share with our citizens that the state of Pender County and where we're at as a county is strong."
PENDER COUNTY (WWAY)–The Pender County Board of Commissioners invited residents and town officials to attend the 2025 State of the County meeting Monday night.
The annual meeting provides updates and initiatives from local government — educational institutions — and community leaders. It also gives residents an opportunity to hear directly from local leaders about key initiatives, programs, and future plans impacting the county.
Randy Burton is the Chair of the Pender County Board of Commissioners.
He says these meetings are important to maintain transparency with residents, and how leaders are tackling issues about the county’s population growth.
“I was happy to share with our citizens that the state of Pender County and where we’re at as a county is strong. We want to those we serve. Our citizen’s tax dollars need to be spent conservatively. They need to know where their money is going and the services they’re getting provided from their tax dollars,” Burton said.
