Wilmington International Airport Held ceremony for Breeze Airways inaugural flight

Currently, fares are around $30 one way.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY)–As Wilmington International Airport (ILM) continues to grow, an airline held an inaugural flight celebration this afternoon.
A little after 5 p.m. Thursday, Breeze Airways landed for the first time at ILM and will depart to Orlando, FL. It’s just one of four trips the airline is expecting to make Thursday and Friday.
Breeze Airways is known for its affordable, nonstop service across the country. Currently, fares are around $30 one way.
The airline will have nonstop routes to Hartford, CT, Orlando, Fort Myers, FL, and Providence, Rhode Island.
The airport had a special press conference announcing the new flight. It makes this the 7th airline to be housed at ILM.
And to sweeten the deal, the airport gifted one lucky passenger with 15,000 breeze points, equalling a $150 value.
Erin McNally- Marketing Air Service Development and Public Relations Manager, says this is an exciting time after having a record year of having a $3.3 million impact on the region.

“We’re already set to set more records month after month this year. So, this is wonderful. It really allows us to provide more choices, have more airlines, provide more choices for our travelers in addition to providing more choices, more nonstops, more affordable fares,” Mcnally said.

Breeze

Wilmington is Breeze’s third North Carolina destination, including Raleigh-Durham and Newbern Coastal Cities.
McNally goes on to say this first flight to Orlando is a nearly full flight. She anticipates many passengers travel on this airline.
