Azalea Festival kicks-off early with Chefs’ Showcase event

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Pre-festival events are already underway for the North Carolina Azalea Festival with the Chefs’ Showcase. The sold out event fed 400 people with a five course meal made by some noteworthy chefs in the area, Vivian Howard, Keith Rhodes and William Roberts.

Along with lunch there was a silent auction. The 2018 Azalea Festival President, Justin Wolfe, said he is already excited for the main events in April.

“Well certainly with the cold weather we’ve had I’m looking forward to a nice warm Azalea Festival four months from now and I’m excited that it’s festival season. It’s my favorite time of the year,” Wolfe said.

This year’s Azalea Festival officially kicks off April 11th through April 15th.
