Brush fire breaks out in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) –The Winnabow Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire Saturday afternoon just after 12:30.

The fire, was off Green Hill Road.

No injuries or damage to homes were reported.

The fire is being ruled as caused by land clearing burning.

Assistant Fire Chief Austin Lentz is reminding residents that Brunswick County remains under a burn ban in unincorporated areas.

This includes any burning within 100 feet of a structure. Residents are urged to refrain from open burning until the ban is lifted.
