A mission to stock Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Lutheran Church of Reconciliation is on a mission to stock Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard with feminine hygiene products for those in need. 

The goal is to provide free menstrual supplies; to reduce the health risk and ensure all females have access to these products.  

Before the project started, the women who used Mother’s Hubbard Cupboard in Wilmington were only given three tampons per month.  

About 220 cosmetic bags have been donated and given to the women to carry their products in and reduce waste.

Now, with more than 3,200 donations of individual products, each cosmetic bag given to women has over 30 sanitary pads and tampons in them.  

Donations can be dropped off to the Lutheran Church of Reconciliation on Market Street in Wilmington.
