CFPUA now charges convenience fees for credit, debit transactions

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Many use credit or debit cards to pay bills and now CFPUA says if customers do so for their water bill, they’ll have pay extra for the service.

According to their Facebook page, there will be a $3.75 convenience fee for all credit and debit card transactions. That fee applies to every credit or debit card transaction per $500 increment.

The authority says to avoid the fee, you can pay using your bill pay services, set up a bank draft, drop your check in the mail, or pay on-site using cash or check.
