Man arrested on firearm charges in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Jacksonville man was arrested on assault and gun charges on Sunday.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded to a weapons incident in the 300 block of Racine Drive just after 12:40 a.m. on Sunday.
When they arrived, the officers determined that the victim had been pistol-whipped by a male suspect. Officers also heard shots nearby as well.
They later caught Kolawole Omotosho, 26, and took him into custody.
He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, PWIMSD cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a felon, and child abuse, among other charges.
He is being held without bond at the NHSO Detention Center.
