Emergency crews respond to private plane crash in Pitt County

GREENVILLE, NC (WCTI) — A single-engine plane crashed in Greenville Friday morning in the area of N. Memorial Dr. and Belvoir Rd.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol Master Trooper Rico Stephens says that no survivors were located. Officials say they are in the process of identifying the remains of the deceased and notifying next of kin.
The FAA and NTSB are on their way to the scene to begin their investigation. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is providing site security with the assistance of the Greenville Police Department.
ALERT: GPD and GFR are providing scene control of a private plane crash in the area of N. Memorial Dr and Belvoir Road. N. Memorial is expected to be closed for the remainder of the day. Waiting on NTSB response. Media is asked to stage in the Pitt-Greenville Airport parking lot.
