Surfalorus Film Festival calls for submissions for its 14th annual celebration of surf cinema

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cucalorus and NC Aquariums presents the 14th annual Surfalorus Film Festival, a three-day festival taking place this September 15-17, 2025 at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head.

Held alongside the Eastern Surf Championships, Surfalorus showcases the year’s finest surf films, laid-back gatherings, and some of the season’s best waves.

Surfalorus invites bold and creative filmmakers to submit their latest works celebrating the art of surfing.

“Since moving our screenings to Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, we’ve truly found the perfect home for the festival,” said festival director Zach Hanner. “We have an outstanding venue, unique and captivating films and interesting, fun filmmakers in attendance. Combine that with the ESA surf contest happening concurrently right down on the beach and you’ve got the combination for one of the more interesting cultural events occurring on the Outer Banks today.”
