Wrightsville Beach Municipal Playground closed for renovations

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Wrightsville Beach Municipal Playground or Wrightsville Beach Park is now closed for renovations.

According to a Facebook post, public works expects the project of removing and installing new playground equipment to take about three weeks.

Almost half of the cost of the renovations are being covered by a grant from Trillium Health Resources.

Even though Tyler Spaulding was a little disappointed to see the park closed Monday. He’s looking forward to the finished product.

“We come down here quite a bit, the kids love to play down here. They had practice on the field. Looking forward to seeing what they’re gonna do here to make it a little bit better. As long as it’s done before summertime and this place gets crazy with beach traffic, I don’t think it will be too big of a problem,” Spaulding said.

The town says the new playground equipment should be installed in time for the Easter Egg Hunt, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 12th.
