Whiteville woman creates miniature Jerusalem to honor Christ’s death, resurrection
WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Whiteville mother who wowed crowds with her Little Town of Bethlehem at Christmas has another creation to show off, just in time for Easter.
Lori Wright spent ten weeks putting together a miniature version of Jerusalem. It’s now on display at Tint Wizard in Whiteville.
She says plenty of people have come by to check out the model. Many have left her nice messages in a guest book she provided.
She says she wanted to teach people what Jesus went through in his final days.
“It was hard,” Wright said. “I cried a lot thinking about it every day for ten weeks without a break. It was tough. Yes, it’s wonderful, but it also breaks your heart to think about what he went through, and I wanted people to see those last 12 hours.”
On Easter Sunday, the stone in front of Christ’s tomb will be rolled back, just like the story goes in the Bible.
Wright says she will keep the display up until April 9.
