Hartzell shines as Ashley shuts out WCA 4-0

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – Ranked number one in Class 4A, Ashley baseball improved to 12-0 following a 4-0 home win over WCA on Thursday in non-conference action.

Getting the start on the mound for the Screaming Eagles was Will Hartzell, who pitched six shutout innings and recorded eight strikeouts. He also recorded an RBI on a fielders choice in the 6th inning, sending teammate Coleman Cross home.

Ashley’s first three runs came in the 1st inning. Tanner Berry knocked in two of those runs while Drew Potter had the other.
