A night of art and awards at Wilmington’s Annual Art Show
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Art Association’s Annual Art Show officially kicks off tonight and is proudly recognized as the official art show of the North Carolina Azalea Festival.
This highly anticipated event is set to feature works from over 200 talented artists, with more than 300 pieces of artwork on display across a variety of media.
During the opening reception, winners in several categories will be announced, along with the awarding of several cash prizes.
Jeff Boring, a member of the Wilmington Art Association, expressed how important the show is to the local community and the level of artistry showcased each year. He said, “It’s a big event for us we plan all year for this and as you can see we’ve got some high caliber artists that work to contribute to this and it’s a very fun event and we all look forward to it each year.”
This juried art show celebrates the talent and creativity of local artists and has become a staple event in Wilmington. The exhibition will run through Sunday, April 6th, at the Hannah Block Historic U.S.O. Community Arts Center, located on South Second Street in downtown Wilmington.
