Splash pad at Hugh MacRae Park opens for the season
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The splash pad at Hugh MacRae Park in Wilmington is now open for the season.
New Hanover County Parks & Gardens announced the opening on Twitter Monday. Kids can cool off in the heat and have some fun in the splash pad from 9 a.m. until sunset daily from now through October.

The splash pad, a 2,700 square foot wet play area, features multiple easy-to-use water elements and is accessible for children of all ages and abilities, including those utilizing mobility devices.
The feature opened for the first time in April 2017.
A loaner water wheelchair will be available through Parks & Gardens for use by children whose mobility devices cannot tolerate moisture. You can request to use the water wheelchair by contacting the parks office at (910) 798-7275.
