NHC Master Gardener Plant Sale set for April 10th through 13th

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Master Gardener Volunteer Association’s 38th annual plant sale will be held from April 10th through the 13th at the New Hanover County Arboretum and N.C. Cooperative Extension.

The sale will run each day from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and from noon through 4 p.m. on Sunday.

According to a press release, this year’s offerings will include more than 4,500 perennials, 3,400 annuals, and 600 hostas and ferns.

The event will also feature a free Seed Swap, allowing guests to trade labeled seed packets from the store or seeds harvested from a personal garden.

New Hanover County Consumer Horticulture agent Gabriella de Souza says there are plenty of plants to pick from.

“Through this plant sale, we are actually selling 19,000 plants, over 19,000 plants, so a ton of plants this year. A ton of native plants as well. We have people onsite, our extension master gardener volunteers who can answer any questions you might have,” de Souza shares.

Due to limited parking spaces, they recommend guests carpool to reduce wait times.

To prepare for the sale, the New Hanover County Arboretum will be closed from April 7-9.
