Whiteville consolidates gun laws, allows them in vehicles

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Whiteville City leaders unanimously approved consolidating their local laws for firearms with some interesting changes.

The city is overhauling their local laws by consolidating them to simplified ordinance chapters.

The revised laws will allow concealed weapons in vehicles on city owned property.

Also the laws spell out where guns are not allowed, specifically concealed carry will not be allowed at any athletic event or recreational site such as parks, school gyms or pools.
