West Brunswick opens tourney with 6-0 win over Southern Nash

SHALLOTTE, N.C. (WWAY) – During the opening day of the Beach Diamond Invitational, hosting West Brunswick shut out Southern Nash 6-0.

The Trojans got on the board in the 2nd inning and never looked back after a misplay on a Ty Walker infield ground ball resulted in two runs being scored. Nate Fish followed that up with a sacrifice bunt.

In the 3rd, Luca Derico lofted a fly ball to the wall, giving Josiah Borton enough time to reach home.

In an earlier Monday tournament game, North Brunswick fell to Legion Collegiate Academy 5-3.
