Zapple, Boseman advance in Democratic primary for New Hanover County Commission
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — There are two open seats on the New Hanover County Commission this year and three Democrats vied for the party’s pair of nominations.
With all precincts reporting, it looks like those nominations will go to a couple of familiar faces, former County Commissioner and former State Senator Julia Boseman and incumbent Rob Zapple.
Boseman received 7,847 votes, while Zapple came in at 7,187.
They held off James Middleton, who received 4,266 votes.
They will take on Republicans Eric Lytle and Skip Watkins, an incumbent, this fall.
