Driver arrested after deadly pedestrian collision in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man is facing felony charges after a deadly crash involving a pedestrian late Monday night in Wilmington.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers were dispatched just after 9:30 p.m. to the area of South College Road near Wilshire Boulevard for a reported vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

When officers and EMS arrived, they found a male pedestrian who had died from his injuries at the scene.

Police say the driver, 24-year-old Isaac Guy Debrosse, was arrested and charged with felony hit and run resulting in serious injury or death. He is being held at the New Hanover County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
