Sea turtle patrol group urges caution on piers after endangered turtle found dead
North Myrtle Beach, S.C. (WPDE) — An endangered sea turtle was found dead with a damaged jaw and a flipper wrapped in fishing line, according to the North Myrtle Beach Sea Turtle Patrol.
Other than the damage that the group suspected came as a result of the nearby pier, the turtle “was in excellent shape and should not have died.”
They remind people to not pull a turtle in if it is accidentally snagged while fishing.
