Whiteville Police Department makes arrest in robbery investigation

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Whiteville police have arrested a man on a charge of common law robbery.

Police say that they responded to a call for service near Memory Twins Circle in connection to a robbery that had occurred on May 13th. The next day, the police department arrested a man in connection to the robbery.

Raphael Gowans, 26, has been charged with common law robbery and is currently being held at the Columbus County Law Enforcement Center under a $1,500.00 secured bond.
