Brunswick County dentistry offers free dental care during annual ‘Dentistry From the Heart’ event

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — A dentistry in Brunswick County offered free dental services to hundreds of people on Friday. It’s part of an annual event that’s now in its eleventh year. 

Coastal Cosmetic Dentistry hosted their annual Dentistry From the Heart event at their office in Bolivia. 

More than 200 patients—children and adults—lined up to get dental care for free. 

Dr. Tim Hoover says the dentistry has provided more than $400,000 in free dental care over the last 10 years. 

“People need help, you know, with dental work and insurance is a big deal too,” he said “So we just give one day to help out and take care of people who don’t have the luxury of being able to afford dental care.” 

Hoover adds the event wouldn’t be possible without the more than 50 volunteers that show up each year.
