Pender County launches 2025 summer meals program for children

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Pender County Schools is partnering with the NC Department of Public Instruction, No Kid Hungry North Carolina, and the Carolina Hunger Initiative to provide free summer meals to children 18 years of age and younger across the county.

According to a press release, the program begins Wednesday, June 18, and continuing weekly through Wednesday, July 30.

Families can pick up five days of breakfast and lunch at the following school sites:

  • South Topsail Elementary
  • C.F. Pope Elementary
  • Malpass Corner Elementary
  • Rocky Point Elementary

Pickup times will be from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM every Wednesday.

No application is required to receive meals; however, families can pre-register for food pickup by completing a registration form, which is available online here: https://forms.gle/9ywM682HA52263Vy8 Upon meal pickup, the name and age of the child will be required.
