Girl taken to hospital following shooting in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police said a juvenile girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting this afternoon.

Police responded to the shooting around 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Anderson Street.

The suspect is in custody, and police believe the shooting happened during an altercation.
