YMCA hosts World’s Largest Swim Lesson
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The YMCA is taking part in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson—a global effort to raise awareness about the importance of teaching children how to swim and prevent drowning.
According to YMCA, this will be a fun, free swim lesson is open to kids and families of all skill levels and is part of a synchronized event happening at hundreds of pools around the world.
They say that drowning remains the second leading cause of unintended injury-related death for children ages 1–14. This annual event emphasizes that swimming lessons save lives—and brings communities together for a safer, healthier summer.
