Van crashes into pole along Carolina Beach Road, power out in area
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – The southbound lane of Carolina Beach Rd was closed following a single vehicle crash Sunday evening.
Wilmington police say a driver struck a power pole around 7:40 P.M., causing it to snap in half.
EMS transported the driver to NHRMC. Duke Energy responded just after 8:00 P.M. with crews.

Power is expected to be out for a few hours.
