WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — A former UNCW men’s basketball player will get a chance to play for an NBA team in the near future.

The school announced Jalen “Bo” Montgomery has signed with the Memphis Grizzlies and will participate on their Summer League team. This comes not long after Jaylen Sims became the fourth Seahawk alum ever to appear in an NBA game back in April.

Montgomery spent the 2024-25 season in Wilmington following four years at Holy Cross. In his final college, he averaged nine points and four rebounds in 35 games.

The 6’5″ guard is a Memphis native and will get the chance to participate with other rookies during the Summer League. The Grizzlies are set to play games in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas beginning on Saturday.
