Wilmington Professional Firefighters offers free mental health services to members and family
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The union that represents Wilmington firefighters says its members will now have access to free mental health support.
IAFF Wilmington Professional Firefighters Local 129 is partnering with Allora Rise Counseling and Therapy in Wrightsville Beach to offer free mental health support services.
Local President Jordan Pettid says Allora rise offered their services for free—at no cost to the union.
He says all members have to do is reach out to Allora Rise directly and request services.
“They’ll just reach out to Allora Rise, and it’s completely confidential,” Pettid said. “They don’t contact me or anyone else on the e-board or in the association that this member is seeking services.”
Pettid says Allora Rise is also offering their services to the immediate family of members as well.
