Vehicle window tint will not be in annual inspections in NC starting in December

NORTH CAROLINA (WWAY) — Changes are coming to the state’s window tint law including a new requirement for drivers during traffic stops.
Vehicle window tint will no longer be subject to annual inspections.
Starting December 1st, drivers with tinted windows will be required to roll them down if approached by law enforcement.
If the officer approaches from the passenger side, that window must also be lowered.
The rule is part of Senate Bill 391, which Governor Josh Stein signed into law earlier this month.
